The event will be hosted at IEETA, a modern building within the University of Aveiro campus.
Transportation
Aveiro is located between two international airports (Porto is the nearest at 70 km and Lisbon at 260 km) and is connected to both airports by highway and railway networks. The highway network permits easy access to Aveiro by car from both Porto and Lisbon airports.
Travelling by train (visit train site) is the best option. Metro and Intercity/Alfa Pendular trains have information in both Portuguese and English.
From Porto
Train
You can take a direct underground connection from Porto airport to the Campanhã Railway Station (visit Porto’s Underground site). There you can choose between fast trains (Alfa Pendular, 30 min; Regular Intercity, 40 min) or slower trains (Urban or Regional trains, 50 min). For train time tables please visit CP’s web page. Taxi
From Porto a taxi ride will cost about €120. Please confirm the value with the taxi driver before leaving the airport.
Car Rental
Porto Airport has various car rental services. Please be aware of additional toll costs for the Porto-Aveiro journey.
From Lisbon
You can take a taxi from airport to Oriente Railway Station (10 min; less than 10 euros) and then take the fast trains to Aveiro (Alfa Pendular, 2 hours; Regular Intercity trains, 2 hours 30 min). When you arrive at the Aveiro railway station the best option is to take a taxi directly to your hotel.

Climate and Clothing
The weather in May is warm with temperatures around 18-22° C during the day and 12-17° C at night. It seldom rains and we advise you to bring light clothes and a swimming suit, just in case.
Local Currency
The Portuguese monetary unit is the EURO (€). Major credit cards are accepted in most shops and restaurants. There are several exchange offices and bank machines at the Porto and Lisbon airports, train stations and throughout Aveiro.
Electricity
Please bring electrical adaptors for any electrical appliances you bring. The electricity supply in Portugal is 220/230V.
